Film: Tarnation, The Food Network and Kath&Kim

The Foot Network. I love you!

Last night I was wild awake at 11 pm and was forcing myself to go to bed. I tuned on to my fave channel, the Food Network and watch Ham on the Street. I must say, it is a funny new show. I found out from the show that it is so easy to make rice crispy bar. I am talking about very very easy. That will be the treats of the weekend!

My friend send me this link about Ninja burger and I just have to scratch my head.

Weekend is almost here and I am looking forward to do something for myself this weekend. I found out about this deep tissue massage via one of the enewsletter this morning.

Chiang Mai Spa: Bargain Bodywork on Hollywood Blvd.

Chiang Mai Health Spa resides in the same charming plaza as new soul food hot spot Memphis on Hollywood Blvd. The massage center, located upstairs, is beautifully appointed with orchids and candles, with one side devoted to men's treatments and the other to women's. We disrobed inside our private curtained massage area and lay face down on the cushioned platform to begin our one-hour Thai massage session with DJ.

Our treatment started out much like a typical deep tissue massage as DJ worked intensely on our chronically tight back, neck and shoulders. When she moved on to our lower body, she used aided stretching techniques, which helped her to target the deep muscles that are so often neglected in the legs.

We're always a little amazed by the skill required for this type of bodywork – at times, DJ had the weight of her entire body on our back and legs, but we never felt at risk for injury because we were confident that she knew exactly what she was doing. (Granted, she can't weigh more than 90 lbs., but it was impressive nonetheless.) We were also impressed by the amount of strength this tiny woman possessed - she was able to dig in deep throughout the entire session to work out our stubborn knots and tight spots.

Afterward, DJ thoughtfully used warm washcloths to remove the excess oil from our skin before we got dressed. We were admittedly a little sore from the deep muscle work, but we also felt looser and more vital as we headed home and dutifully drank plenty of water to aid the release of toxins after our intense bodywork session.

TV Show: Kath & Kim

The number one comedy in Australia continues on Sundance Channel this month with the third season of KATH & KIM. Meet empty-nester Kath (Jane Turner) and her daughter Kim (Gina Riley) as they live their suburban dreams and create nightmares for everybody else. A reality-style TV camera follows mother and daughter as they go about their lives in the fictitious Melbourne suburb of Fountain Lakes, where Kath is on her second marriage and Kim is working on her first.

Season two of the long-running series concluded with Kim and husband Brett celebrating the birth of their baby girl Epponnee-Rae, drinking a toast to her "long and preposterous life". As the champagne flowed, Kath's first husband showed up to crash the proverbial party, leading to ensuing hilarity in season three.

New episodes of "Kath and Kim" premiere every Wednesday at 9:00pm, from January 4 through January 25; encore presentations air on Fridays at 11:00pm and Sundays at 8:30pm.

This show is super hilarious. Who could have known that there is such thing as Whitetrash Aussie?!!

Tarnation on Sundance Channel

First-time filmmaker Jonathan Caouette startled audiences at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival with a documentary so personal and poignant that it brought some viewers to tears. Compiled on a tiny budget and largely comprised of Caouette family home videos, answering machine messages, and old still photos, TARNATION tells the story of a deeply troubled childhood growing up in an environment of shock therapy, rape, foster homes, abuse and attempted suicide. Nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary, TARNATION is one of the most heartfelt and devastating non-fiction films you're ever likely to see. Watch it on March 25th at 11.30 pm. It is a little late but I am sure it is so worth it!

Music: Tilly and the Wall

This cute little band Tilly and the Walls is back with new songs. Their new album will be out on May 23 ( my brother's birthday). If you have not heard of their first album, you should check it out. Wild Like Children is a very cute campfire cd and it is very imaginatic..is that the right word? I dont know but they are way hella cool.
